Church Brew Works
Black IPA
Pours a deep brown, almost black color, lots of creamy light brown foam and a solid amount of lace as well. In the aroma, piney citrus hops and traces of coffee. In the taste, very stout like, mocha, spent coffee bean, moderate hop flavor and a light tang. Hops are quite mellow, but do have a presence in the brew. Reminds me of an export stout, decently hopped, very stout like and a small twang of ale yeast and oxidation. Overall, a pretty average black IPA, but a step in the right direction.

Pours a clean deep amber color with an off white head. In the aroma, small roast and a small hint of hops. In the taste, roasty coffee malt and ending with a dry pine like hop. A smooth and medium bodied mouthfeel, with a small dry coffee in the aftertaste. OK, expecting more hops, average.
