I'm sorry but there is a standard that you have to meet if you're gong to call your brew an extreme double IPA. I had this beer straight from the tap at the brewery and it only had slightly more mouth feel than their regular Thunderhop IPA, which I thought was a below average IPA to begin with.

On tap served in an 8 oz flute. Surprise! I was expecting a 12 oz shaker. Current incarnation is 8.25% ABV and 95 IBU.
Aroma of generic citrus and flowers
Head removed by bartender. What was left was off white, frothy, and diminished to 2mm ring and layer
Lacing excellent – rings and curtains of tiny bubbles
Body medium orange, clear
Flavor – Begins and ends bitter, no particular flavor but not offensive. Bitterness has a long hang time. No malt, no alcohol, no diacetyl.
Palate medium, watery, soft carbonation.

Pours a perfectly clear golden color, short lived head that recedes to a ring. Awesome aroma of pine, dank herbs, grapefruit and even a bit sticky sweet. The aroma filled up the whole table. The taste is huge with an explosion of west coast hops, almost can't believe what I'm tasting. This is a hop monster with tons of resin and pine. Big grapefruit and other tropical fruit. Bitter as hell but does achieve some balance. Juicy and very fresh tasting, this should be a flagship beer for this brewery, it is really an impressive offering. Medium bodied ale with a hop bite , this is a kick ass beer! Thunderhop with a makeover and big citrus burst. I heard cbw hired a new brewmaster , and if this beer is any indication, good things lay in store for this top notch brewpub.
