Was able to get a pour of this for $5.25 at the Rivertowne in Verona. Listed as 6% on their chalk board.
A - A very light mahogany brown, clear with a hefty 1/2 inch of opaque colored head. Sticky lacing was good too.
S - Mostly dunkel notes of bread and caramel malts but a slight hint of coffee does indicate a good balance.
T - Mostly malt forward with a pretty balanced hop profile I am getting the nice bread/caramel aspect of a greatly brewed dunkel with just a hint of smoke and mostly mild roast coffee twang that reminds me of Perkulator from Dark Horse.
M - Medium bodied, chewy, and a very balanced taste. Good stuff.
Overall it's either hit or miss with these guys (ugh was Cherry Quadzilla terrible) but you bet your ass they got the dunkel thing down so I expected it to be amazing. Give it a try if you love their dunkel it's a great mix!

Pours a light caramel brown with a thin, but dense bone cap. Slightly hazy.
Light coffee, light smoke, cashew, and a sprig of grassy hops. Simple, but delightful.
Coffee is very subtle; quiet, but there. That hint of smokiness is gone, replaced by punchy bitterness from herbal hops and affirmed my roasted malts. It's not hoppy, but the presence is there. And, it doesn't interfere with the nutty coffee flavors.
Smooth-bodied, with a brushy carb feel that is quite refreshing. So gosh-darn drinkable!
A vast improvement from the Nicholas Coffee Stout they released last year. Coffee here is mild and nutty and invigorating. I'd order a second right now, if I had time.
