How do you celebrate THE PERFECT MOMENT? We prefer a thoughtful beverage on the lighter side; perhaps a 4.6% Helles Lager. This Helles was constructed with Barke Pils, Saphir, and Tettnang for a noble attempt at perfection. A crystal-clear, straw-yellow pour unfolds with retentive white foam and light floral aromas, chased with light crackery dough and a subtle mineral perfume. Flavors of bread, light lemon, and bergamot with a slight grassy, herbal undertone. An instance of bitterness and a pint's worth of quaffability. Ahh.... perfect.

I don't subscribe to "Perfection" in beer, but I'll go as far as "Excellent." This pours a clear golden color with abundant foam in the Rodenbach goblet. Aroma is flowery with fresh hay. Lively and sudsy mouthfeel and a light body. Just slightly sweet with honeydew melon and clover in the nose. Flavors of light cereal, melon, and a touch of resins in the aftertaste. This combines the crisp and refreshing with a malty flavor and zingy hop notes. Overall this is my pick for the best Pilsner of 2024. From the 16 oz can purchased at O'Shea Brewing. Canned the week of February 18, 2024.
