familiar, somewhat understated, drinkable and sort of summery to me, nothing exotic here, but this is solid overall, among their better beers i had when i visited last week. off from clear but not really hazy, kind of an unfiltered look to this, and very pale, newer school for this style space, without the richer crystal malt base these used to rely on, more neutral on the grain side, a patchy white head on top slowly fades out, a little light on the carbonation i reckon. the nose is fresh, lightly spicy, and hits with cut pine and fleshy grapefruit character, undeniable simcoe in here, along with others, good freshness, fruity to me in those nose without excessive bitterness, a honey note to the grain, and a mellow floral element that lightens it some. the flavor is robustly hoppy, riding some oils the whole way, pineapple and tangerine mosaic notes too now, middle of the road bitterness ramping as it warms, a light cheerio thing to the malt, nothing from the ferment, one of the few i had here that is true for, but its off dry, some residual sweetness extending it, pineapple candy at the end, juicy red apple too of all things, quite good. its obvious this is real fresh, i dont think its a technical marvel or anything, but its a drinkable and serviceable take on the style, more modern than many in these parts.

Rather hazy but seems to be some kind of slightly murky American IPA. Pleasing aroma of peach and orange peel and Juicy Fruit gum in the nose. Quite spritzy on the tongue with some sharp finish as well. First, the orange and fruit, then a mineral taste with a dank finish. Quite bitter and plain, but aromatic. This 2024 version is down from an unlikely 7.6 percent with different hops, but same name and apparent flavor profile. From the 12 oz can purchased at Elizabeth Station. Cryptic date stamp.

Picked this up somewhere in the Pacific Northwest when I was out there, although I can't quite remember where. Can't say that I ever had anything brewed on an Indian Reservation before and although this didn't break any new ground for me, this easily checked off all of the proverbial boxes as it was an enjoyable American IPA!

This poured a hazy amber with quite a bit of dark sediment floating in it, although that probably had to do with this beer's age. Enough head topped this off as the lacing was also extensive, without any rings being readily visible in it. Lots of pine, gooseberry, and deep tropical fruit in the nose as the taste closely followed suit. A bit of caramel emerged in the taste along with earthy hops and underlying dankness. Full-bodied and light in carbonation, this was easy to drink as the alcohol was nicely hidden.

Dated 8/8 on the bottom of the can, the taste held up well although this could have appeared a bit better. Not a bad first impression from Talking Cedar as I like the simplistic, tribal art that was on the can. Lots to like here as this wasn't a typical hop bomb from these parts, as I'd seek this again when out there the next time around!

I enjoyed this beer from the taps at the Talking Cedar Brewery in Grand Mound Washington. Due to being served in small flight glasses, I don't have a good idea the head or smells of the beer, but the taste was bright and juicy with a strong malt character balancing the hoppy bitterness and making it perhaps more unique among PNW IPAs, which tend to be more dominated by their hops.

A new brew from a new brewery. Pours a hazy light amber with light head. Good nose of fruity hops, maybe a bit of citrus. Good hop-forward taste, not overly dry with adequate carbonation. Good malt base, tasty. ABV is a little stiff at 7.6%, so watch out. A good result from an operation just getting started.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a hazy, medium golden amber with copper notes and a fine, three finger white head with great retention and solid lacing. Aroma of pale malt, piney and citrus hops with a little dankness, orange, grapefruit and pine needles. Flavor follows with pale malt, piney and citrus hops, mixed citrus and pine. Lingering, moderately resinous pine finish with solid hop bitterness. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. A flavorful and to style Northwest IPA with classic pine and citrus, with pine slightly dominating, as is appropriate for the brewery's name. A little dankness in the aroma and finish. The body leans in the direction of a pale ale, with little caramel character, but of good depth to support the great hopping. Nice hop bill. I like this a lot and look forward to seeing more from this new-to-me brewery run by the Chehalis Tribal Enterprises. They are starting off well.
