I had this beer on-tap in a pub glass at the brewery in Grand Mound.

Appearance: pale straw hue with a light effervescence and just a tiny dash of haze.

Smell: crackery, light malt aroma. Maybe not a lot to it, but it's pretty clean, which is often not the case in the style.

Taste: your basic light lager, with a biscuity character and kind of a dry astringency. Not a ton of character, really, but for a light lager it's not bad.

Mouthfeel: light body with an okay carbonation and creaminess.

Overall: quite drinkable at 4.2%. It definitely goes down easier than something like Bud Light.

super easy craft budget play here it seems, fine beer, not one i would pick over others, but ive long been cool with craft operations stepping into this space, and while this isnt great, its not something anyone expects to be great, its light without being too mimimal, retains some sort of pils malt identity to it, is a little messy and unrefined as this sort of thing goes, ought to be cleaner, but it hits where its supposed to and i think it will sell well for them, especially where beers of this nature already do well. branded sort of classic and iconic like its already been around a long time, which i find funny, craft was a rejection of those brands, now it mimics them for sales, full circle i guess. yellow and fizzy, better carbonation on this than a lot of their others had, a nose that is grainy but slightly maybe corny, cheap but not grossly so, actually cleaner and better than their pils at this point for me, not much from the lager yeast, which i guess is a good thing in this comparison here, lightly metallic but not yucky, faint herbal hops even, relaxed and best when frosty it seems, less appealing as it sits, just like the flavor, tighter colder, going to stop short of calling this refreshing, its still not super well made or crisp and lagered in a way that makes it feel like it could at full potential, but this fits well in this style space and i think will be a lead item for them in the wild. good with salty snacks, like it should be, for me darn nice with their fried pickles in here, some of the best of those ive had...
