Clear brown color with reddish hues, tan head. Aroma has sweet dried fruits like raisins and dates, some brown sugar and caramel malt notes. Taste is sweet at first but gets quickly more astringent and nutty with a light earthy bitterness on the finish. Medium to light body and carbonation. Quite good and easy drinking.

When poured, Arcolator didn't really produce a vast amount of head. What was produced from a half liter bottle was about a finger and a half thick, and stuck together quite nicely. The body is nearly black, but showcases ruby red highlights with a little light.
Aromas given off are of chocolate malt character, and a slight herbal fragrance. There is also the typical cola like smell here too.
The taste is sweet and almost cocoa like at first, and gives way to a bitter semi sweet finish.
Though this is a bit on the full bodied side, it's actually quite smooth and not overly carbonated. A warming alcohol comes through in the end.
This is the first beer I've ever had from this brewery, and I hope to sample some more based on this decent example of Doppelbock.
