coffee golden ale, love blonde types with coffee, wish they didnt serve it in a plastic cup at the brewery, but its nice beer and the coffee is dominant but not overly roasty which makes it modern, and its well supported by some grain sweetness, its low acid, and the flavor is fresh and distinctive, notes of hazelnut, honey, and toffee to the beans, nicely extracted and infused into here, an otherwise basic but perhaps slightly malty take on the style, seems well built for the java, and this overall is quite good. just a bit of color from the coffee addition, nice rich golden tone, near clear but not perfectly, and with a short but lasting white head, not quite an inch tall, good carbonation through the whole drink. the coffee is nutty for sure and stays away from dark chocolate and bitter depth, it plays more raisin and tobacco and brown sugar, and really goes great with the grain in here, a cold brew process seems likely, as the texture of the beer isnt broken down at all by the coffee. smooth and medium bodied, not as light as the pale coffee lagers of course, and i like the length this runs with, faint smoke and even dried cherry notes as it sits a bit. good carbonation, and as good at ambient temperature as it is ice cold. quality coffee on display here, good recipe, good execution. this place was great!
