Cask at Gourmet Haus Staudt.
This is a beautiful beer. Golden-amber, very slightly hazy. The head is dense and rises two fingers high. It retains remarkably well, leaving rings of lace.
Nice clean pale malt aroma. Bready and grainy, a hint of honey-drizzled apricot and lager yeast.
The palate is excellent. Sweet pale malt, a little honey and stonefruit, some breadiness mid-palate. Dries up in the finish with firm balancing bitterness. The body is spot-on for the style, medium-light and very crisp. The bitterness in the finish balances the initial sweetness wonderfully. I thoroughly enjoyed my half-liter, and would have gotten another had the cask not kicked.
