Sampling a cold 32 oz crowler picked up at the brewery 1 day ago after a trip to Hershey outlets. Figured I would get the beer since I had already added it to the BA DB. Beer pours a cola brown color with a creamy beige head of 3.5 cm. This foam fades to a thin edge layer and some wispy islands on the surface.
Aroma is a mix of sweet and dark chocolate, some roasted malts and a bit of caramel. Generally malt forward nose and no hint of ABV and maybe some light grassy hop character, but this is way in the background.
First sip reveals a medium body with fine and gentle carbonation that rolls softly across my palate.
Flavor is similar to the nose advertisements, with dark chocolate, milk chocolate and roasted notes. Maybe a little fudge or brownie character too. Again, no booze and the hops arent present here. The finish is also sort of dry and the beer is going down very quickly. A nice example of a style that I enjoy and is underbrewed in my opinion.
