Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewery pint glass
A: Pours golden yellow with a frothy cream white head that settles to a light layer and leaves a little nice lacing.
S: Ripe citrus, resinous pine, a bit green, grassy, and herbal, tropical and stone fruit, floral hints, biscuity bready malt, and caramel sweetness.
T: Lively citrus, tangerine, lemon lime, and a touch of grapefruit, tropical and stone fruit, blueberry, pineapple, apricot, mango, peach, passion fruit, and guava, resinous pine, floral notes, subtle underlying grassy herbal tones, biscuity bready malt, and caramel sweetness.
M: A touch on the fuller side of medium body, moderate carbonation.
O: Drinks somewhere between a Westy and a juicy American IPA. Sturdy malt backbone and body, plus a little extra sweetness, countered with a nice punch of hop bitterness and intensity. I'm on the fence because I appreciate how much flavor and hoppy goodness they packed in, but the balance feels a little off. There's probably enough sweetness for a DIPA, and maybe enough bitterness too. In the end it seems like each element is fighting for the lead instead of coming together. The potential is there, they just need to dial it in. If they brew it again I'll try to revisit it.
