A very refreshing, easy drinking beer. Along with U.S. grown barley, the grain bill consists of medium grain sushi rice and soft white winter wheat grown and harvested on the fields of our family farm. 530 is late hopped during the brewing process, producing a slight citrus/floral aroma and flavor. The residual yeast produces a subtle, yet complex flavor. The drinkability of 530 will have you enjoying more than just one!

12oz can, painted label. No dating information found.
Mostly clear, deep gold colored body. Thin finger of white head with the pour, and this becomes a partial cap and full ring. Leaves behind some thin lacing strings.
Aroma of tangy wheat malt and some citrus.
Taste follows the nose, and is sweet, tangy, and earthy. Flavors of tangy wheat malt, lemon, and orange. Has a mineral note. Low bitterness, but there is an ending bite with each sip. All flavors continue in the aftertaste.
Medium mouthfeel. Light and crisp finish. Good carbonation.
Easy drinking wheat beer with a citrus touch.

12 oz can poured into a plastic beer cup from Murdoch’s at Los Altos Farmers Market. Pours lightly hazy amber yellow with a frothy cap of white foam. Soft aromas of yeasty multigrain bread and grassy hops. Flavors of wheat, citrus zest, earth and just enough bitterness. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Easy drinking and refreshing.

just my third from these guys, glad they are in idaho now. this is a pretty simple beer in the glass, but its more than just a wheat beer, barley and also apparently sushi rice in it, which give it some nuance and textural interest, but it also drinks like a beer for everyone, slightly agricultural in the way i want craft beer to be, and i think this is real well executed. as my pizza buddy says, if you cant make plain, get out of the game, and this is sort of the beer equivalent of that to me, a basic drinker with some thought behind it, very polished and good, and incidentally also a nice pizza beer! blonde and less cloudy than a lot of wheat types are, a lasting inch of pure white head, thicker and more lathery than anticipated, looks great in the glass with quite a bit of carbonation too. the aroma and flavor are subtle, a little middle sweetness with a honey thing, some earthiness to the wheat, maybe some starch from the rice, white bread, lighter than toasted but not raw either, mineral forward, dry by the end, mild lemon and grassiness from the hops, clean and refreshing with a light body that does not come across as watered down or lacking, peppy carbonation makes it sing, and this is a total pint beer, something i could pound on indefinitely. it handles spice and acid well, grease, salt, all of it. love the wheat and rice together in this, really tidy and professional, well ahead of my middling expectations in a style that rarely excites me. very well made, and underrated here on BA for sure...

Draft at Say Cheese Pizza in Mt. Shasta. Poured a clear, golden yellow color with a small, white head of foam. It left sudsy lacing. It smelled of cracked wheat, caramel and grasses. Sweet wheat taste with caramel and a hint of spice.

I truly still get surprised on how beers can take well over a year until their first review pops up here. This didn't use to happen. Leading off today is the almighty bArF, you're welcome. Down bad, perhaps, but hey, he's a sight for sore eyes. But yes, definitely the first review of this beer at this Next Glass owned website.
Pours yellow with a light amber leaning. 1/4" head, rapid dissipation. Chill haze so it might actually be a wheat beer. The aroma wasn't much, but its honest work. Did I smell wheat? I don't recall it.
The taste is a marginal experience. Its easy enough to drink without pissing you off, but there isn't really much going on. Read elsewhere about high hopping but I disagree. Its like around the realm of shocktop. How do you review something that is so middle of the road? I guess you speak to it. I've had a few Farmers beers now, and this is probably my least favorite of the few. There is a light citrus rind aspect to it. Definitely not complex as the commercial tug job would have you believe.
