Pours dark chestnut brown with a plum hue. Thin dark mocha head quickly dissipates into a pencil point crown.
Roasted malt aroma with some coffee and chocolate notes.
The taste follows. Maybe a little distant fruit and vanilla are added to the coffee and chocolate. A little cola and molasses makes for a fairly sweet finish.
Slick, relatively creamy feel. Just a hint of carbonation.
A decent no frills American Imperial Stout that indeed seems like a good base for some barrel and add-junk treatment.
