Had Carouse at the Elsewhere brewpub, Atlanta, on 19-oz. draft into seidel.
Pours straw-gold with clarity and 1-finger to huge, sticky near-white head, with good retention, leaving chunky rings of lace down the glass. Nice pilsner malt aroma off pour, then mild Noble hop spice and growing floral aromas. Begins smooth, creamy and malty, but only a bit sweet, with floral flavor (yep) and a big, moderately spicy hop bite soon joining, and carrying into a moderately bitter, still malty, very drying finish.
Ultimately a bit maltier, yet dryer and more bitter than either of the German or Bohemian pilsner styles to which it is brewed in homage.

Thanks to my brother Mark, who lives in Atlanta, for getting me some beers from this brewery. Poured out of a 12 oz. can into one of my pokal glasses, this beer pours a clear, medium golden color with lots of streams of little bubbles fairly rapidly and continually rising to the beer's surface. Has a fluffy looking white head that's over an inch thick when first poured. Head eventually settles to a thick lacy, film layer surface coating along with a thick ring lining the inside of the glass and good lacing. Aromas of bready malts, and some herbal grassy notes along w/ an earthy, floral hop presence. An extremely similar flavor profile, with some bready, herbal, grassy, malts and some nice graininess. This is followed by earthy hop and floral hop notes that lend a bit of a spice note and some nice bitterness. A well balanced flavor profile overall here, and simply an excellent flavor profile! Spot on for the style. Has a crisp, yet smooth, light to medium bodied mouthfeel with fairly light carbonation along w/ a clean finish and a crisp aftertaste.
