This batch is dry hopped with Simcoe, NZ Cascade, and @crosbyhops Estate Chinook. Punchy cosmic waves of heady pineapple, white grape fruit leathers, and ripe fresh squeezed ruby red grapefruit juice with a refreshingly dry and lovely bitterness.

Reviewed just over a week after canning. Poured into a nonic pint glass. It pours an opaque, grassy pastel orange with a full finger cap of fluffy, milk-white foam and heavy lacing. A big, fruity nose featuring grapefruit, lemon, pineapple, and white grape. The taste follows with lots of tart grapefruit and lemon balanced by the sweetness of pineapple, a kiss of berry or apricot from the NZ Cascade, dry white wine, and a hint of pine sap. I'm also tasting a distinct earthy spiciness from the Chinook. Beneath is a firm, crackery malt base. The Chinook also provides a strong, clean bitterness throughout. This ale is very well balanced; the flavors are distinct yet soft. It is fairly lite and crisp with pleasant carbonation, and it doesn't drink like 7.5% ABV. Overall, Lights Please, Lights Please 1 is a delightful DIPA that is a pleasure to drink. It appears this is the first batch of what will be a series. If so, then it's one to watch.
