Fruity Flakes seems like an odd flavor profile to try to achieve in a beer, but I can’t say I’m not intrigued. I had the Orange Creamsicle variant of Luvv and thought it was pretty good so I figured this was worth a shot. Let’s crack it open and see what it’s all about
Pours an opaque pinkish orange with 3 fingers of soapy whitish orange head that slowly fades to a thin cap and leaves minimal lacing
The nose is bright and tart, like fruit punch if it was actually good. I’m picking up on aromas of cherry candy, orange juice, fruit punch, jammy raspberry, crackery malt, lemon zest, light cranberry, and vanilla
It takes a gentler approach in taste, but that actually helps to bring out the cereal vibe. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting orange juice, tart raspberry, lemon zest, black cherry, vanilla bean, bready malt, and light honey. The swallow brings notes of dehydrated strawberry, tart raspberry, cereal grain, lemon zest, honey, cherry candy, vanilla bean, bready malt, and orange juice
A medium body pairs with gentle tingling carbonation, resulting in a slick beer. Finishes surprisingly clean and tart
Damn, this one was even better than I was expecting. Obviously very fruity but with a very clean execution
