On tap at the brewery, served in a stemmed glass
The beer is jet black, with ruby highlights. There is a frothy tan colored head that slowly fades, leaving a thin crown that disappears about half way through the beer. As the beer is consumed there is a fair amount of lacing coating the glass.
The aroma is citrusy, and slightly piney with a nice deep maltyness. Very pleasant and inviting. The aroma reminds me of Stone Sublimely Self Righteous.
The taste is similar to the nose, a nice balance of citrusy hops and roasty, toasty malts. Medium bodied and well carbonated, the beer is very drinkable.
Overall, this is a great beer. One of the best examples of the style that I have tried, I am really looking forward to having this beer again.
