L- Pours super deep ruby/chestnut-brown, slight haze (most sediment left in bottle) with a 2mm mid-tan head that's now waned to a partial cap.
S- I get a deep roast fruit and fruit-cake note to this.
T/F (harder to split them at this ABV) - Ah there you go, the first note I get seems to be baked apple, as you'd find in a pie or crumble. It has malty depth but isn't over-rich. A surprising thing is even at a hefty 9.5% the ABV is relatively subtle. I mean I know it's there but I sense it more from it's overall heft (Feel) and quite full-on style, but I get no ABV% zing across the palate at all = good brewing.
O- This is a very classy and accomplished brew for a small brewery; perfect for slow-sipping in winter.
330ml bottle BB: Feb-22/Batch#5. £4.75 Bought from BeautfulBeers/BurySt.Edmunds as part of a large pick-your own consignment to London.
