L- Deep chestnut brown, bottle-conditioned and some sediment entered the pour, some left in bottle. Poured with a 1.5Cm pale tan head of fine bubbles. [ps 15mins later holds well].
S- Very Belgian, deep and estery (fruit notes).
T- Deep, puddingy (as in British Xmas pudding), prominent esters so no having to ponder and search for them. I get a fruity bitter-sour note into the finish, hard to know the extent to which it's hops and/or ABV% or both. IDK if it's my palate tonight but I'm struggling a bit to find a spectrum of flavours here.
F- It's quite a pungent flavour and yet it isn't over-rich.
O- For me it's a slow-sipping beer, perfect during cold season. I'd happily drink it again though I don't intend to buy it again at the price I paid, £12/L demands something clearly 5*.
330ml bottle £3.95 BB: Jan-22, Batch#3. Bought from BeautfulBeers/BurySt.Edmunds as part of a large pick-your own consignment to London.
