- On draft Maple Shade location served in a pounder. Cask Conditioned dark oatmeal stout brewed with shellfish. 6.5%.
A: Dark coffee coloring, beautiful mocha tinted head, nearly 2 fingers high, spongy and bubbly on the surface with a suspended carbonation factor. Lasting coverage throughout the drink.
S: The aroma was fresh, wet, with a big burst of wet coffee, rich roasted chocolate, and cocoa that was very enticing. Nailed it here.
T: Flavor showed some dry chocolate roast, with a soft campfire minerality. Roasted oats, with a light salty fade, with some woody dry pine hops.
M: Light bodied, some mineral feel, lightly salty chocolate roast off the tongue.
O: Overall soft, easy drinkability, was expecting perhaps a bit more body here, seemed a bit thin, aroma was rich, wet and enticing, as well the nose. The flavor was good, though lacked body and substance, was expecting something a bit fuller. Some saltiness but could of always used more if you are going to stress it.
