C - Deep gold, very clear
N - Very hoppy, resinous, piney and overall quite heady. Nice. Underlying malt sweetness melded nicely with the hops.
Head - Solid thick, stark white head.
Taste - A beautiful melding of sweet honey malt and explosive hoppy-ness. While hoppy and somewhat bitter, the overall impression is smooth, complex and mellow. Malt foundation is strong, pale malts, slick. Hop flavor kicks in like a mule, spicy, piney full of snappy complexities, but again overall smoothness of flavor that I really found appealing. My impression is Double IPA in the Hop Wallop style. Great job. Sampled both the draft and cask version, both great in their own way.
Finish - lingering, smoldering, bitterness. Delicious.

Overall - A delicious beer from start to finish.

Had this on tap at Iron Hill's (Wilmington) East meets West brewer's reserve night. The card says it's a highly hopped, malty seasonal ale. The head thick, off-white in color, and left awesome lacing. The beer was dark amber in color with a golden hue. A malty IPA with a fairly bitter hop bite with moderate body. The flavor was solid with a nice even mix of malts and hops. A nice, well rounded stong IPA.

On all levels, this is an exceptional IPA. I had this at Iron Hill Brewery's Brewers' Reserve Night at their West Chester, PA, restaurant. Justin Sproul, brew master from Iron Hill's original restaurant in Newark, DE, was on hand to serve this terrific brew. Deep amber color, with a fine white head. Intoxicating, floral hop aroma, slightly spicy and sweet. The taste is incredibly balanced between hops, malt, and alcohol (what a great combination!). Smooth and tasty. I only wish they would bottle this stuff!
