This was a great seasonal from Iron Hill; their self-described German style dark lager is effervescent in the pint with decent head and lacing. The black brew smelled of sweet malts, some fruity tones. The taste was very unique- chocolate, cherries, and delicate woody undertones. Very earthy flavors, but as satisfying as a meal in itself. Good carbonation, easy going down- very nice beer.
