On tap at Iron Hill in Phoenixville, PA. Pours dark amber with short-lived white head and some lacing. Aroma is of sweet caramel and cherry. Body is medium and smooth. Taste is of caramel malt, cherry, herbal hops and hint of chocolate. Finish is long and spicy. Nice bock.

On tap at the Wilmington location. Pours brown with a small tan head. Aroma of sweet, bready malt. Flavor of some bready malt, apple juice, maple syrup, soda-like. Mostly sweet. Odd tasting though, with a syrupy mouthfeel. This one just didn't agree with me, and normally I am a fan of doppelbocks.

The beer was presented in a 12 ounce pilsner glass. It was near black in color with a very thin white head. The aroma was slightly fruity with a hint of booze. The flavor was of raisins and bread soaked in alcohol. The beer was clean and has a pleasnt crisp finish. The beer was medium in body and had average carbonation. The beer was very drinkable and went well with my appetizers.
