This one came from a tap, inside a clear twelve ounce Pilsner glass. There's a nice tight white head modestly perched atop the liquid. It seems to be enduring. The brew itself is a bright copper-amber that's rather translucent. The smell is that good one of sweet malt, hops and a little alcohol. The nose aspect is piney and earthy. It drinks sweet and smoothly enough, but there's an alcohol bite to contend with. Sometimes that can be confused with the bite of the hops, but not here. There's definitely a little too much alcohol to taste. No, it's not as bad as adding a shot of some sort of eighty proof liquor to it, but it is more pronounced than the good ones in this category deliver. But, overall this is an acceptable brew. It brings a West Coast taste, sharply piney and quite dry in a good way. There's almost enough malty sweetness and sharp hop characters to mitigate the taste of alcohol. There's no earthiness, no glass lacing and nothing else to add. This is good, but it's not very good.
