I enjoyed this pint at the Brewery across from Franklin and Marshall at college row. Served cool in a standard pint.
A - Appears as a good nitro stout -furniture dark brown w/ a latte like smooth creamy cap of about an inch after the slow cascade.
S - Roasty, hints of creamy chocolate, like a cadbury egg w/ coffee-like roastiness
M - Creamy, frothy nitro-influenced, almost a beer milkshake. Nice nuttiness w/ a slight sweetness on the tip of the tongue and finishes w/ subtle dark malt and hop tinges.
T - The sweetness kicks this sucker off w/ very light semi-sweet chocolate flavors and rushes into roasted barley nutshell-like dry flavors and woody earth notes. Very malty w/ sweet hints and charred malt glimpses. A nice roasty stout w/ a very light touch of cocoa.
D - A fine stout w/ subtle cocoa - could be more upfront w/ chocolate flavors. Just ok overall IMO - not much of a stretch from the Pig Iron porter on nitro. The nitro makes it slightly cloying after 1/2 a pint.
