so I decided to take a leap of faith. I bought this dusty bottle from the reserve list and brought it home to NH to enjoy. How'd if fare?
A - rich dark slightly hazy brown liquid pours into my glass followed by a nice off white head.
S - slightly astringent oak overlaying a dark ripe fruit malt and tantalizing yeast
T - thankfully the astringent aspect in the nose is no where to be found in the taste. Rich dark fruit malts, belgian candi sugars, caramel, vanilla, oak swirl with a very nice belgian yeast note.
M - full bodied, softly carbonated, soft oak conditioned feel across the tongue, lightly sweet aftertaste.
D - smooth and slow sipping but delightful indeed!
Glad to have tried this but at approx $22 it's a bit steep. Call it $14 and I'd buy a case.
