Abbot I is a "medium bodied ale with fruity and spicy notes brewed with specialty malts."
Ok, I say. Ok. Let's see these malts.
My response upon tasting: "Meh."
Can't say it's bad, can't say it's good. Iron Hill is a successful brewpub because they have good but not great atmosphere, good but not great food, and good beer. This is not a great beer.
The head dissipates and leaves minimal lacing atop a light amber base. It doesn't smack you with any smell, and I had to hunt for a trace of sweet fruits. The taste is hoppy - which was pleasant given what I had been drinking - and the spices are there too. It's not an exceptional taste but its well-built.
The feel in your mouth has a nice composition with all the elements working together. And at 4.3% abv it's a candidate for having a few of.
I just don't really want to.

On tap at the NW location.
Poured a deeper golden color witha samller sized white head. Aromas of bananas, breadiness, and some spiciness. Tastes of the same bananas, bready, spicy, and some honey sweetness This one was very nice and I could see drinking this all the time (especially with it only being 4%)...
