This beer came a dark amber with hints of brown and a touch of red grape. The head was a frothy off-white tan.
Smells of... Cap'n Crunch. I didn't notice it at first, but once my buddy pointed it out, that's all I could smell. There's sweet peanut butter backed by a slight woody pine.
Tastes thin and sweet with green grapes and smooth grainy barley, but the Cap'n begins to blossom out here too. This is well balanced by a dry peanut and English hops and finishes with a touch of hazel nut extract. I would have liked to see a more prominently English malt. Also, the extract was a little on the heavy side.
Feels light and fine with a nice frothy buzz of carbonation that fades quickly in the mouth.
Nice, but the Cap'n was a little hard to over look. Even then, it's still pretty solid.
