An Imperial New England IPA brewed with massive amounts of oats and wheat to complement the over-the-top tropical and citrus fruit aromas and flavors from the copious amount of hops added.

One of my co-workers is a fellow beer enthusiast whom I knew socially long before starting my job with the USPS back in late-Mai. He spoke highly of this beer a couple of weeks ago & I put it on my list to try at the first opportunity. Thankfully, they fill Crowler CANs for takeaway at my LanCANster, PA location as I am still unCANfortable sitting at even a socially-distanced bar as I have a CANpromised immune system thanks to CANcer & adult-onset asthma. 8=( The CANQuest (tm) has always been more of an at-home endeavor CANyway so it is nothing out of the ordinary.
From the Crowler/CAN: "Date Filled: 11/24".
I Crack!ed open the massive vent on this latest Crowler & beCAN a steadily-flowing C-Line Glug into the awaiting glass. I was not CANcerned about clarity as they had already identified it as an NEIPA & I was more CANcerned about dribbling, which CAN be a problem when dealing with a Crowler. I got a finger of dense, foamy, rocky, bone-white head with decent retention for my efforts. Color was a deeply-hazy Golden-Amber (SRM = > 5, < 7). Nose had a typical tropical fruitiness, but I was not getting the citrusiness noted in their website's description (submitted for Notes). Hmm. Mouthfeel was medium. The taste was quite fruity with an emphasis on the usual tropical suspects cut by a light grapefruit citrusiness. Somehow, I just was not feelin' it with this one. It lacked Ooomph!, rendering it a lackluster example in/of the style. It was too tropical for my taste & when Citra (my guess) gets overwhelmed by Southern Hemisphere hops, you have gone too copious in the wrong direction, IMHO. Finish was semi-dry, but lackluster overall. YMMV.
