Really like the beers from Iron Hill and had high hopes for this one. Maybe it's just me, but I was not impressed with this one.
On tap at the Drafting Room at Exton.
The beer pours a solid brown color with not much head retentnion and minimal lacing. Not a great start. The nose is really dumbed down, with a bit of brown sugar and light spice and really nothing else. On the palate, this beer is very odd. It tastes like a standard brown ale, but one where someone dumped a lot of tobacco into it. I'm just not digging the combination. Mouthfeel is light and a bit watery, with some very light sweetness to go with the other flavors. While the alcohol in this beer is not very noticeable, drinkability suffers from the fact that I just think this is a crappy beer.
I know they can't all be winners from Iron Hill, but I was not impressed with this one.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
