On-tap, served in a globe style glass

An orange body with a creamy off-white head that didn't last very long. Scattered lacing with minimal visible carbonation.

Light floral hops and fruit, most reminiscent of pears with a sugary sweetness I wasn't quite expecting. Clean grains lay low but definitely have a grip.

A more malt forward interpretation of the style with caramel sweetness and pears that lend a mild tartness. I was expecting more fruity esters and a bit of Belgian tang from the yeast, but didn't quite get it. More of a Belgian pale in my book.

Smooth and creamy with very minimal carbonation. Some spicy alcohol asserts itself nicely.

A clean, bright version that is very easy to drink. 8% is barely noticeable.

Enjoyed on tap at Maple Shade. Cloudy grapefruit coloured. Aggressive carbonation out of the gate. Belgian ale yeast with Amerillo and Simcoe orange citrus that emanates though slightly in the nose.Nice taste, drinkable though not the best I have had in the style. Listed as 6% not 8%

Served in a tulip style glass. Sampled on location 2/20/10.

A: Poured a bright, sunset orange with a thin, frothy, but quick to dissipate cream colored head. Visible carbonation was limited to but two tiny bubble streams that rose at a moderate rate in close proximity and unison. The lacing was slight with small broken trails left behind.

S: The nose was decent of fresh apple and pear slices upfront. There was a bit of sugary notes mixed in with a dry graininess along with a slight indication of alcohol as well. Overall was fairly clean with a bit of alcohol spiciness.

T: The initial flavor was nice, with a crisp sense of caramelize grain sweetness with a fruitiness of fresh apples and pear slices. The alcohol comes through in a good way providing a gentle warmth. The flavor overall is very clean while the finish wraps up with a light dryness and dried sugary sweetness. The Belgian yeastiness is rather clean with a slight lingering dry fade. This is really a nicely brewed beer.

M: The mouthful is very smooth with only the slightest indication and hint of carbonation. A nice viscose resistance is observed while the beer flowed fluidly around the tongue quite nicely.

D: Very nice drinkability, extremely clean and well brewed with a flawless sense of transition going down. Things are only slightly hindered by the alcohol warmth but otherwise a very drinkable Belgian style beer that comes highly recommended and a worthy repeater.
