Oatmeal stout aged in a cabernet barrel with cherries and wild yeast, and blended with tart cherry juice.
a: This was a murky cola color. It was served to me with a thin whisp of a head.
s: Tart cherries dominate. I also got a little funky yeast, and a hint of roasty malt.
t: Tastes primarily of tart cherries. The oatmeal stout was there, but decidedly in the backround. There was a little funk and I could taste a bit of the barrel, but the cherry juice doimnated.
m: Mildly fizzy carbonation and a slick body.
d: I liked this and I appreciate the chance to try something this different. I wish a bit more of the stout had come through.
