From Iron Hill:
OG: 1.057 Color: 22 IBU: 40 Alc by Vol: 5.3%
Our award winning Pig Iron Porter aged with fresh cherries in a oak barrel that contained lambic beer.
Well I really enjoy the Pig Iron Porter. Aged in an oak barrell that once contained a cherry lambic. I'm all about it.
I enjoyed this beer with the portabello quesadillas and a mozzarella and tomato salad. Food and beer was exquisite.
Anyway, poured a little thinner than you usual porter, but color was as expected. Surprisingly, it tasted almost like a blend of the two beer rather than a porter that spent some time in an old lambic barrel. Cherries were very present in both the nose and palate.
Great beer. Was very tempted to pick up a growler of it.
