Draught in the Phoenixville location: This one poured a clear golden color with a small white head on it. It left some lacing. It had a milder aroma, but it was still good. Somewhat grassy and earthy with some malts tossed in. The taste is a hair dry. Touch of sweetness to it. Earthy notes with some malts. Nice and refreshing.

On tap @ Iron Hill Phoenixville on 7/2/10. Served in an oversized mug.
Pours a mostly clear copper, with a thin fizzy layer of bright-white head. This mostly retains around the edges, leaving back some foamy lacing which quickly slides down the sides of the mug. The aroma is thick and sticky in the nose, with notes of fruit and bready malt. Earth and spice from the hops is present but it seems to just add some extra flavor but offers up no balancing nature to the nose, as this is mostly a warm sweet mess in the nostrils.
The taste fairs a bit better, with the earth and spice of the hops helping balance out some of that malt character. This however is still VERY sweet overall, almost to the point of being cloying at times. Fruit tones only add to the sweetness it seems. This finishes dry and spicy with some notes of lingering gritty earth. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, with a pretty sharp carbonation to this overall but it's got a little heft to it (that feels a bit bigger than 5%) which keeps this from staying crisp for very long in the mouth.
I'm not sure what happened here but I just didn't dig this at all. Those noble hops tried to keep this balanced and crisp but there was just too much sweetness here, that when combined with the thicker feel, really hurt the drinkibility of this. One mug of this was more than enough.
