On tap @ Iron Hill Phoenixvile on 10/8/10. Served in a footed flute.
Pours a mostly clear copper, with a thin white head. Retains with a thin foamy ring around the edges, leaving back some light spotty lacing. Peach is there in the aroma but is hiding out behind some floral notes and extra tones of earthy rind and spice. It mostly sits in the back of the nose with the bready sweetness of the malts and adds a light juiciness to this.
The taste is flat toasted sweetness and earthy hops, with a touch of fleshy peach mixed in. The peach isn't overdone at all, adding some flavor to this but still complimenting the others as well. This finishes with some light pithy bitterness and a moderate amount of dryness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied (a bit surprisingly so) with a crisp creaminess to it that expands out into the mouth. This still stays pretty easy and silky overall though.
Not bad by any means, this was a flavorful and refreshing (and low ABV) American take on the Belgian Pale Ale style. Almost like a fruity Blonde Ale with a more pronounced yeastiness at times. It drank well in any case.
