I'm reviewing this from notes on the train home to NY, and I'm wondering what scrap yards along the train tracks really do? How do they make money? Who buys the stuff? Are they just differently named recycling places? What do all those aquariums have use for? Someone answer me this.
As for Dr. Drie, it's a Belgian Pale Ale aged in local Chadds Ford Winery Chardonnay Barrels. While it's technically a pale ale, this one is damn close to a sour. The appearance wouldn't tell you, but the nose yells it from a mile away. Kinda like "Dr. Drie" might.
According to their description, it's a beer with notes of sour cherry, toffee, and apricots with a slightly tart finish. The toffee has a subdued presence in the taste, which is good because the nose doesn't give you any hint of it. The tart finish is correct, and the apricots seem a bit lost in the cherry.
Its 4.7% abv light to medium body finishes a little watery, but remains one I'd re-drink if need be. Not a top sour, definitely not a top Belgian Ale, but also not bad. Creative.
Cheers to Iron Hill for staying local, too, because I've been to that winery, and this beer is WAY better than that wine.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
