Here's another that avoids categorizing. It's a self described IPA - Fruited and it just came delivered in a clear pint glass, from a tap, at their Chestnut Hill location. It's NEIPA cloudy, but the head is a very modest just-off-white. Its color is almost like pineapple juice, only modestly carbonated. There may be some hops and malt to smell, but this is, for the nose, a cherry bomb. There's so much cherry that it's reminiscent of children's cough syrup and that gets amplified in the taste. The menu describes it as having cherry notes, but observing its color and carefully considering the overall taste, it would be surprising if the cherry flavor was entirely natural. Not that this doesn't taste like cherry, it's probably added cherry flavor rather than including cherries in the wort. Obviously, one must enjoy the taste of cherry to even want to try this one. The body is light, but smooth and supple enough to carry the cherry flavor. Interestingly, the glass lacing is way above average for even some of the best bodied IPAs. How'd dey do dat?
