Imperial Belgian Black IPA
The body sits a dark ebony with a frothy two+ finger cap of mocha tinted foam. Decent retention and some minor lacing left behind.
The aroma is of lightly tart/fruity Belgian yeast, grassy hops, and light roast aroma. Not overly broad by any stretch, but focused and straightforward.
Subtle roast hangs throughout while grassy hops dominate. And i am talking fresh cut grass here. The Belgian yeast strain lends a touch of fruity tartness that I can't quite nail down and a finish of mild bitterness and a touch of mint.
Smooth and creamy with a medium body and good carbonation.
Overall, this is a nice collaboration and one I would seek out again. It's a unique take on a hybrid style so there really isn't much to compare it to. Nice job.
