Purchased at the Iron Hill Brewery in Wilmington, DE. According to the beer menu, this American IPA is only served at this particular location - it's listed on the 'Hometown Tap'. Got a 16 oz draft, which was presented in a pilsner style glass. Slightly off white 3 fingered head, caramel colored body. Some citrus and pine notes on the nose. The first sip has that citrusy flavor for a moment before the hops kick in. Well balanced classic IPA, nothing that makes it stand out but still tasty. Clean finish. Worth trying if you want to sample the 'local' specialty not brewed at their other locations.

draft at the Wilmington, DE location
Served in a standard shaker pint, Riverfront is a golden-orange in color with a decent, low head. Immediately striking nose of bright citrus rind and other tropical notes atop a fairly clean body. Lovely resinous aroma and some clean, bready malts. The flavorful citrus and tropical notes continue on the palate with a lightly sweet, pale malt body. A drying, balanced bitterness enters to finish. Overall, found this one to be a surprisingly impressive example.

Holy crap! IH's Riverfront IPA is atypical for East Coast IPAs: it is worth checking out, and more akin to the west coast style.
Minimally turbid, and not a belgo IPA, so points knocked off there. Otherwise good head retention, and nice golden hue.
Nice floral notes. I can't for the life of me distinguish American hops, so who knows the hop profile. Smells am awful lot like RR Row 2, so I'm guessing its dry hopped w/ Simcoe at least. Whatever the hop profile, it's nicely aromatic.
Taste wise, there's a tiny touch of sweetness up front, but that's gone quickly as bitterness takes hold. It tastes very much like a well made West Coast IPA.
I don't say this lightly: if you are in the area, take the time to seek Riverfront IPA out. IH is a good brewery, and I have respect for what they do, but this takes them back to a level I didn't think I'd see again after their ridiculous Soured Old Tom offering in 2008ish.
