On tap at Strangebird Beer in Rochester, NY.
This one pours a dark-ish brown color, with a small head, and a bit of lacing.
This smells like caramel, chocolate, and some whiskey-ish spice.
I want a more dynamic barrel character in this one – it kind of just tastes like a small amount of cheap whiskey was dumped into a decent enough brown ale.
This a little bit thin, but pretty drinkable, despite being boozy.
Strangebird is a super solid new brewery, but some of their initial barrel aged offerings haven’t been the best.
