very good drinkable flavour, port and a good base, well worth buying and consumption. Decent mouth feel, nice aroma, quality abounds. Bottle from the source.

This pours a fairly dark black color, with a small head, and not much lacing.
This smells like dark fruit, cherry, port, tobacco, roasted malt, and dark chocolate.
This is easily the best BA stout that Strangebird has done yet. It’s not a high bar to clear – some of the previous barrel aged versions of Bear Fight were kind of rough. But even without that comparison, this is legitimately good. It’s got a really smooth creamy chocolate note, with a enough port character without being overwhelming. Sometimes port can kind of add a way too vinous almost pruney flavor – that doesn’t happen here. It’s like cherry and tobacco and char, and I like it.
This is medium bodied, creamy, and very drinkable, with very little booziness.
I hope Strangebird’s BA stouts follow this trend going forward. It was excellent.
