On tap at Strangebird in Rochester, NY.
This one pours a slightly hazy golden yellow color, with a small head, and a good bit of lacing.
This smells like stone fruit, melon, white wine, floral funk, clove, and a heavy mineral character.
I’ve really liked every rendition of Pillowhead that I’ve tried yet, and this is probably my favorite one yet. The barrel has transformed the excellent saison here, adding melon and floral funk, some wine and grapes, and a slight oakiness. There’s clove, and some spice too, and a general smoothness and restrained subtle tartness.
This is really drinkable, smooth, and well-balanced.
This is one of my favorite beers that Strangebird has made yet, it’s truly excellent.
