Marzen is an Octoberfest-style Amber Lager. This beer embodies Bavarian traditions of rich, malty, lager, brewed in spring, barrel-fermented, and lagered to perfection to finish the summer and welcome in autumn. Marzen has aromas of biscuit with graham cracker, honey, and pie crust, with oak, honeysuckle, and nutty notes.

On side pull tap at Strangebird Brewery in Rochester, NY.
This one pours a golden amber color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like honey drizzled bread, herbal hops, oak, pie crust, and graham cracker.
This is a pretty exemplary version of the style. The oak adds a lightly spiced softness to this, with biscuit, caramel, honey, rye, pie crust, and graham cracker – it’s a malty delight.
This is light bodied, but full for the style, and really drinkable. The oak really softens the edges of this beer.
I could drink an enormous amount of this and not get sick of it.
