Ceres is a Fresh Hop IPA. We brewed it with NYS ingredients, including malt from Monroe County and hops from Ontario County.

On tap at Strangebird Brewery in Rochester, NY.

This one pours a darker amber color, not sure IPA-coded, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This smells very zesty and earthy, in a good way, but also very malty, in not as good of a way.

Strangebird went way old school, like 90s brewpub style, with this one. It’s super earthy, spicy, and almost dirty tasting, with a heavy bitterness, and a malty, caramelly sweetness. It’s mostly successful, but it’s not exactly my preferred style of IPA.

This is medium bodied, pretty bitter, and reasonably drinkable.

This is a nice slice of the old days – not perfect, and definitely too malty, but still tasty.
