Big Hammock Brewery

Smallish spot by the square in the center of town.

Seats at the bar, in a rear room and a few tables/seats outside.

The feel here is on the beat up side, like it could use to be updated

They are doing a variety of tasty Asian inspired eats with noodles seemingly at the forefront...

When I visited they only had one (wtf?) of their own available on tap, supplemented by about a dozen fairly worthy guest taps.

Quirky and fairly worthy spot, where you can get some tasty chow and more then likely a quality and fresh draft or two.

A small but bright jewel in Ocala. Beerwise it's very small (1 barrel) but the brewer (owner) *always* produces good beer. It's probably better to make frequent visits because some of his beers become a hit and go fast!

Last time I was there he got his production up a bit so he could have 3 offerings on the menu, but even if it's only one "this week" it's worth a stop just to have the one beer.

Food? Small menu but very good. The Ramen is SUPERB. Having had it at least a dozen times I can attest that it's consistently good. Big Hammock could drop either the food or the beer and they would still be good. Luckily they produce both.
