Review from notes from last fall.
Golden Ale – 4.9% ABV. Estimated 25 IBU’s (American Blonde Ale). LCBO purchase for about $3.25 CDN.
Appearance – Fairly hazy golden brew with two plus fingers of decadent and frothy white head. Great staying power and lots of spiderweb lacing left behind.
Smell – Mild aromas, grainy bits, hints of currants, some vague leafiness. Pretty decent smelling actually.
Taste – Clean, mild, vaguely sweet with hints of grain and currants and gentle sweetness throughout. Taste flies away quickly but that’s to be expected with a blonde ale.
Mouthfeel – Medium/ light bodied, watery, easy enough to digest although a bit gassy and otherwise inoffensive to the senses.
Overall – Pretty decent lighter beer, worth trying and glad to have picked up.
