473ml can served cold into a chalice. Durand purchase. Collab with Third Moon and Durand Coffee. Overnight Oatmeal Stout with coffee and maple syrup. Listed at 6.8% ABV.
Appearance - Virtually black in color with a finger or so of foamy and short lived tan head/ Coalesces into a very small wispy foam cap after a minute. No lacing to speak of.
Smell - Lots of roasty coffee notes with some dark chocolate and the maple syrup is just barely detectable. Coffee and chocolate combo is strong and well balanced here.
Taste - Coffee, then some dark chocolate, milk chocolate then maple syrup sweetness. Semi bitter in the aftertaste. Well put together with the right blend of coffee and chocolate with the right amount of sweetness. Certainly not a sweet bomb, but just right.
Mouthfeel - A little thin, was hoping for a more velvety consistency, but certainly not bad with good carbonation and semi-dry finish.
Overall - A winner with a great balance of coffee chocolate and maple syrup making this a sweet (but not too sweet) treat.
