a delicious coffee stout here, one of their best beers we had when we visited. its not overly heavy, and this is a style i find myself appreciating the utah law on abv limits for draft beer, it works at this strength, especially as a session pint or even a morning beer. its packed with coffee, not sure which they use, but its roasty and deep, at least as bitter and black as the darkest roasted barley in here, but the beer isnt acidic from it at all, suggesting perhaps a cold brew blended in after the beer was done fermenting, but i am not clear how this is made. its frothy feeling, not rich, but fluffy and light for the style without being thin, hard to do but they nailed it. not a ton of nuance to it, dark grain and good quality coffee are kind of it, but its nice that the ferment is so clean, the finish approaching crisp, and the overall quality this high for a brewery who is really just getting started. all of the beers we had in here were solid, but this one really stood out. looking forward to my next visit here and to watching these guys grow into this space! if you like a ton of coffee in your stout, give this one a try.
