using hop 692, which i believe has now been named talus, which has always been delicious, berry forward, and super interesting, but this first installment of their hazy series is not a great expression of it for my money, frankly their weakest beer we had in here. not bad, just a little overly starchy in terms of the texture, and with a bit more of the greenness and pellet bite than i want in the finish, there is a certain intensity to it that sort of trumps the juiciness of the hops and their nuance, nothing all that interesting from this varietal then, which seems like a real shame. still hints of melon and coconut, but its corrupted in an unflattering way by bite and bitterness. good carbonation though, and the beer is obviously real fresh, i just think this one is in need of a little fine tuning, especially on the hop schedule and dosing. i have high hopes for this place overall, and frankly dug their beer on the whole, so i definitely anticipate this series improving in future batches. i am particularly sensitive to this flaw in this hazy style now, and its a big turnoff personally. others may not agree with this assessment.
