apparently this is the first higer abv these beer these guys have done, and i feel thankful to have scored what looked like the last crowler when i was in. yet another hazy from here, at least their third thus far, and for me somewhere better than the first hazy series beer but not as good as the derailment i just had, which is the best of them i reckon. this is definitely sturdier and its nice to have a bigger beer from them, wheaty and fuller feeling, just a trace of the alcohol coming through, but it does not present itself in an imperial fashion or anything. very hazy in appearance, muted looking to me but nice and fizzy and heady, perhaps a touch thicker than is visually ideal, but its not gross either. the aroma and flavor are solid, this is totally packed with hops, bitter orange and fresh pine stand out, juniper too maybe, and a little pineapple juice as well, the issue is that there is some greenness and some bite beyond a little bitterness, its just over the line of being too hop saturated and a touch harsh, this is exacerbated by temperature and is barely perceptible when its good and cold, but is slightly problematic as it sits. the more it warms the more i also get a classic hoppy woody element, a centennial type profile, and it makes me wonder what all the hops in the mix are, seems like some northwest classics and something a little more modern working together. the beer is good, but its in need of just a little refinement still, i dont love the linger, but it shows a lot of promise overall and the hop profile is nice. hopefully they keep a couple of strong ones available here moving forward, lots of space to explore there...
